Buying a Garden Gazebo - Shelter from the Elements!

When you start looking for a gazebo for your garden you will soon find that there are many different styles, shapes and sizes to select from. However, in most cases people who have gazebos erected in their gardens tend to go for octagonal shaped ones made from wood that is open to the elements on all sides and has a double roof with cupola. But as you will soon find not only are there gazebos that are the right size for your garden but also your budget.

As you will soon find when you are looking to get a gazebo for your garden there are plenty of different sizes, styles and shapes of gazebos to choose from. But generally the type that most people will opt for are the octagonal open sided variety which are made from wood and come with a double roof and cupola. Even so with this design there are still plenty of ones to select from and should fit into your garden and budget easily.

The diameter sizes of gazebos range from ones as small as 6 feet to ones that are 22 feet and may well have no walls so that you can enjoy all aspects of your garden. However, there are some gazebos that do have walls and you could if you wanted to use this structure as a guesthouse. Although the designs of these structures are very simple they are durable and may have added embellishments to further enhance their looks such as trellis walls or Victorian mouldings.

When you are going out to purchase a gazebo the first thing you need to decide upon is where you intend to situate it. If you are not sure about what is the right position then discuss the matter with a builder or an architect. It these people who may be able to answer certain questions with regards to placement and erection of a gazebo in your garden that you may not know about.

One thing you may need to do is actually obtain permits to have such a structure installed in your garden. Also you may find that there are certain regulations set by your local Government offices that require the structure to be located in certain positions and for example may need to be more than 20 feet from any property boundaries. However, a quick call to your local planning authority office should provide you with answers to these and other questions you may have regarding the erection of a gazebo in your garden.

It is important when deciding the exact location for your gazebo to be erected on you take into consideration not only the size of your garden but the way in which it has been laid out. If for example you happen to have water feature like a pond in yours then it is worth actually locating your gazebo as close to this feature as you possibly can.

Another thing you need to consider when it comes to getting gazebos is determining what material you would like it construct red from along with the style. Certainly if you are going for a style that is more embellished and comes with features such as decking you need to make sure that you have sufficient space to erect it without it actually affecting other areas of your garden as well.

Although most of the gazebos you see that people have erected in their gardens are made from wood, there are plenty of other wonderful materials being used in the construction of such structures. In some cases because people prefer a low maintenance option they will go for ones that are made from iron, steel or aluminium, which all look just as attractive as the wooden types. - 15432
