How To Succeed Learning The Violin Yourself

By Ria Yuka

Many violinists seldom recommend a beginner to learn the instrument on his own. Their reasons are that the violin is a complicated instrument that requires much skill in perfecting. While this is true, the same applies to any other instrument and yet there are millions who do not benefit from rote learning.

Before deciding whether to enroll in a music school, or to try teaching yourself how to play the violin, there are certain requisites one must have to succeed in the endeavor. Are you really keen on learning, or is it just a passing phase that is being experienced? Having a strong passion is really important to seeing things out to the end.

Discipline is another attribute that must come with learning the violin. Little results will come to a person who practices little discipline and control. It will result in little or no progress, and eventually such a person will end his interest in the instrument.

There are some things which having a personal violin coach might not help to develop. These are the ingredients that other self taught musicians have inculcated to produce their own success. All this have a lot to do with the amount of passion one has, how dedicated one is to his craft, and the level of discipline being applied in practicing this craft.

All these attributes must be applied to the violin as well if a self taught direction is to be employed. If they are all satisfied, the success rate of being able to play the six string instrument increases dramatically. The results could be as good, if not better, than spending money having a teacher of your own.

There are other advantages to being self taught in music, especially on the violin. The most obvious would be the amount of money that can be saved. Violin teachers might cost more than instructors of other instruments, as they are of a smaller supply. As a result, many of them command a higher fee.

Musicians should always explore the music and find a direction of their own. This is something that is greatly evident in those who have been self taught. As a violinist, it is also fully applicable and might result in a greater appreciation of the music.

Not everything will be rosy when attempting such self taught methods. It might be especially difficult in the beginning trying to figure things out on your own. But engaging in a like-minded community will be of great help. Through due application of dedication and discipline, together with your passion, you can definitely learn how to play the violin on your own. - 15432
