By Harry Jonsonap George Johsonap Sally Johsonap William Johnsonap Laurence Johnsonap

Billions are spent in the US on dieting with obesity researchers receiving funding by the diet industry. Even though many Americans are overweight, the shocking truth is that only 26% of women and 16% of men are dieting, according to NPD.

There's many ways to diet but what is the best dieting approach? One popular approach today is using PC dieting software. One of the most effective dieting programs on the market today is called Diet Power because the program can be used based on any of the popular dieting programs- or not using any og those programs at all.

Diet Power keeps track of your nutrients to help you balance those nutrients to fight such diseases as heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, osteoporosis, and other ailments.

Diet Power looks at your personal metabolism and then recommends your calorie budget. As your metabolism changes so does the recommended advice from Diet Power.

What does "metabolism" mean? Metabolism refers to the number of calories needed by your body to maintain your current weight. For example, for an average weight individual this could be approximately 2000 calories each day. However, your metabolism can vary as much as thirty percent from average metabolism. For example, if you are in the lower end of the metabolism range, eating the 2000 calories could make you gain alot- sixty three pounds a year.

Interesting to note, which makes matters more complicated, is that your metabolism is not always the same. It fluctuates because of a variety of conditions such as as your weight changes, your diet changes, and you take certain drugs. For women, metabolism is effected by your menstrual cycle.

Despite all the metabolism changes, most dieting software assumes you have an average metabolism, except Diet Power software. - 15432
